The objective of this workshop is to introduce the young ones to the basic techniques used for archaeological excavations like how to dig trenches, how to record the antiquities unearthed etc. This workshop is conducted in the INHCRF campus inside the pre-defined and well laid mock trenches in which, the archaeological objects are planted for the students who then themselves recover and record the objects as a part of the workshop. The activity is conducted under the supervision and guidance of a professional archaeologist. This workshop is intended to give the students an orientation of historical excavations, archaeological techniques, making them understand the purpose behind excavations and above all have a hands-on thrilling experience.
